By Samantha Taylor.
I’m so excited to introduce a new blog feature to you today. On the 20th of every month, head here for a card sketch and example from the sketch. I have to admit, I love card sketches. They’re especially handy if you get in a creative rut, and they can challenge you to try something new.
If you’ve never used a card sketch before, the rules are pretty simple:
1. Have Fun!!!
2. Create a card (or 2 or 3) using the sketch for inspiration. You may use any paper, embellishments, stamps, etc. that you want. Feel free to flip the sketch (for example this sketch is posted as a horizontal sketch, but flips to a vertical sketch really well).
3. Show off your work. We’d love to see what you make with the sketch. Post it in the S! gallery, and also feel free to leave a comment on this post letting us know you played along. If you post a sketch inspired card on your blog or on-line gallery feel free to link it up in the comments too.
4. Give credit where credit is due. If you want to post this sketch on your blog or anywhere else, feel free to do so, just mention that you got it here at the S! blog.
So (drum roll please), here’s the very first S! card sketch. I can’t wait to see what you super creative S! fans do with it:
Here’s my take on the sketch (and yes, all those delicious papers and embellishments are from the S! December kit):

Oooooh, I love card sketches. I’ll be sure to play along…..
