May 2010 Kit Project – Esmeralda Potted Rose

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

By Janine Rachau.

- Adhere Webster’s Pages: Bloomers ribbon with blooms Aqua along the top of a 4″ pot.

- Fill the pot with crafters’ foam leaving 3/4″ at the top.

EsmeraldaPottedRose_1_web

- Begin the rose with the same technique that Stephanie used in the March kit, Janine changed it a little by using a scalloped or curvy edge to my circle.

- Use Esmerelda for this beautiful teal and red color combination.

- Janine thought the pattern to this paper was perfect! Her general template was just a guide; she cut more free-hand with a wavy edge as she went in the circle inward.

- Then, roll it just the same as Stephanie did, showing on Scraptivity’s blog. This is the base.

- Cut multiple petals free-hand, generally in the shape of a curvy teardrop. Bend, fold and manipulate them to curve and attach to the base, shaping it into the likeness of a mature rose.

EsmeraldaPottedRose_4_web

- Attach a fake flower stem and/or felted wire to the back.

EsmeraldaPottedRose_2_web

- Push it into the center of the craft foam.

- Cover the top with potpourri.
