All this month in the Scraptiv!ty chat room the design team is focusing on fun and fast projects for summer, because lets face it, we’re all really busy right now! This month’s card sketch is sweet, simple and fast too:

Here’s my take on the sketch:

As you can see, there is a hole punched in the front of the card, so the embellishment can be placed on the inside, but seen through the outside of the card, too.

For your viewing pleasure and kit inspiration, here is a never-before-seen project created by KarenScraptivity with our July 2008 kit. This card is gorgeous!!!

- Cut a piece of Kismet Numbers cardstock so that, when folded, it will make a card the size desired.

- Use Inkadinkado Games stamps to embellish card as desired.

- Sprinkle embossing powder on stamped areas and set with heat gun.

- Cut a piece of Bazzill Maraschino to the desired size to stamp and emboss sentiment. Once stamped sentiment has dried, place where desired on card.

- Stamp and emboss more embellishments with Bazzill Maraschino as desired and cut out. Place on card using pop-dots.

Invitation

Supplies:

November 2009 Kit – Bazzill: Embossed cardstock Geneva Swirl

Glitz Designs: Kismet collection Dots Bazzill cardstock Maraschino

Casino Coin

Inkadinkado: Clear Stamp Set – Games

White Cardstock

- Cut a 5×12″ from the Geneva Swirl cardstock and fold in half to make it 5×6″.

- On the backside of the cardstock, draw a rectangle .5″ down from the top and the sides and 1.25×4”.

- Draw a line in the center and cut the rectangle out by cutting down that center line and to each corner and fold back the cardstock.

- From the Dots paper cut two .75×4.5″ strips and adhere them so the backside so they meet in the center of the rectangle opening.

- Stitch around the rectangle.

- Cut a 1.25×5″ strip from the Maraschino cardstock and cut a 1×5″ from the Dots paper. – Cut white cardstock 3.25×3.5″.

- Stamp Bunco on the white cardstock and on a piece of scratch paper. Cut out the scratch paper Bunco and temporarily adhere on top of where you stamped on the white cardstock. Stamp the dice on top of the Bunco stamp and scrap. Remove the scrap paper.

- Also, stamp the dice on extra white cardstock and heat emboss. Cut out.

- Adhere dots to Maraschino cardstock and adhere to Geneval Swirl cardstock.

- Stitch around the strips.

- Adhere the back of the Geneva swirl to the front. Stitch around each edge.

- Adhere dice stamp and casino coin.

- Tie a ribbon around the strips of paper.

- Punch out a tab and adhere to white cardstock.

- Finish off your invitation with info and the recipient’s name on the tab.

8 Card

- Cut a piece of Ledger paper to desired card size.

- Tear a piece of crossword paper, making sure that it has your desired number on it, and adhere to card.

- Outline the number with Distress Stickles (available in S! online store).

- Add card.

- Affix domino to bottom left, with blank side showing. Add number to domino, either with a sticker, rub-on, or stamping.

Thanks Card

- Cut a 7×12” strip of the black card stock and fold it in half.

- Cut a 5×6” rectangle of the Check it out paper and distress the border.

- Stamp (Daniela used Fired Brick distress ink and Glitz Distressing Stamps Round from add-ons) the numbers circle with the handwriting border on white card stock. Then, distress it (Scattered Straw and Vintage Photo distress inks) and cut it.

- Cut a scene from the Child’s Play paper.

- Stamp (Jet Black Staz-On ink) using the distress stamps (add-on) two of the bamboo tiles and stamp your sentiment on the third one.

- Pass hemp cord (from past kit) through the tiles and glue them down.

- Make a bow.

Zilch card

Supplies:

Bazzill cardstock Maraschino

Inkadinkado: Clear Stamp Set – Games

- Use Maraschino as base.

- Print out game directions on computer and back with brown cardstock.

- Cut strip of stars and adhere to top.

- Stamp star chip stamp twice on the back of the Dots paper. Punch with a 1″ circle punch.

- Punch a 1.5″ circle with blue cardstock.

- Cut strip of dot paper and cut scalloped border on one side.

- Adhere all parts to the Maraschino cardstock.

- Cut edges of circle off.

- Adhere ribbon on top of card.

- Cut star paper to fit clothespin and adhere with ModPodge, then put more over the top.

- Adhere circle star to the clothespin after it dries.

- Cut a 11×5 ½” piece from Bazzill Candle cardstock and score at 5 ½ to form a card.

- Cut a 4.5×5” piece of Bazzill Yosemite cardstock.

- Cut a 2.5×5” piece of TCP Lemon Love.

- Punch Yosemite cardstock with a scallop border punch.

- Ink edges of Yosemite with Versa Color Lagoon Blue ink (May/10 S! kit ink add-ons)

and edges of Lemon Love and Candle with Versa Color Topaz (May/07 S! kit ink add-ons).

- Stamp Inkadinkado Butterfly stamp on small scrap piece of Candle using Versamark ink.

- Stamp Inkadinkado Hello stamp on bottom right hand corner of Candle card base as shown.

- Heat emboss both images with blue embossing powder – extra (Stephanie used Martha Stewart Cerulean)

- Stamp Butterfly stamp again with Versamark on Lemon Love paper as shown and heat emboss with blue embossing powder.

- Cut out butterfly embossed image from Candle scrap piece as shown.

- Machine stitch Lemon Love paper to Yosemite Candle base.

- Attach cut out butterfly on top of butterfly on Lemon Love paper with pop dots. Add TCP mini gems to top of butterfly antennae (May/10 S! kit add-ons).

- Attach a piece of Making Memories butterfly twill ribbon with a glue stick to Yosemite base as shown, gluing ends under. Adhere to Candle base.

May Card Sketch – Focus on Flowers

As you know, this whole month, the Design Team at Scraptiv!ty has been sharing different techniques for making hand-made flowers. You can find all of those techniques here, and there are still more to come. New techniques will be posted every day until the end of May. 

Because there are so many great techniques, I designed this month’s card sketch to have one large focal image. That’s right, now you have no excuse not to try out one of those new flower techniques.
